Mandatory Continuing Education Requirements

I agree that continuing education will strengthen the Land Surveyor profession and it will be a positive demonstration that we are conscious and deliberative regarding our responsibilities to the public  we serve.  The amount of hours is generally less than what other states require and this would keep Virginia at a pace similar to other States which already have regulatory requirements regarding continuing education.

I would hope that LS professionals that are licensed in other States that have continuing education requirements will be able to use the continuing education units earned from either national organizations (ACSM or NSPS) or other states to apply for this requirement.  Also, if the continuinng education requirements is specific to Virginia licensed professionals that that portion be available through on line (web based) education.
