Mixed bag for military

The notion of continuing education seems good in theory.  However, I have some trepidation because of the nature & schedule of how I practice engineering in the military.  I’m deployed 6-8 out of every 18 months.  During deployments, I’m “learning,” but it is education of a different sort.  While at home station, at this point in my career, I command a civil engineer squadron…a 60-70 hours/week endeavor.  While the Air Force provides some opportunities for continuing education, the majority of such a requirement must be satisfied on my time & dime, both of which are in short supply.  I request the Board consider some allowance for this if CE becomes the mandate, especially in the case of deployment time.
