I maintain a PE license in 4 states, and am very active in maintaining my continued education, however I oppose the requirement because it results in a large amount of extra paperwork for a profession which has many burdens already with changing building codes, design code changes and material changes. The education one can receive CEU's for can be relavant or not, it is a generic program, but the education we need to maintain just to function is extensive. I do not see the need for the requirement.
