It is devastating for engineers! More money for academia!

It is devastating! I am a small business owner and the only PE on staff. Do you know what it costs for me to loose a day and for what? I practice engineering since 1984 successfully and somehow was able to keep up with new developments in my field without bearcats directing me to do that.

Continuous education requirement means nothing more than lost time (that could be used for self education), money and headache. It also means more money for academicians, who, I am sure, do not know more than average practicing engineer.

I could only agree with it if all practicing engineers with 10 years or more experience are exempt from CE requirements. If not, VA will loose another small engineering firm.
