People who actually do the work in the field are educated everyday!

People who are not supervisiors and actually do the work in this feild are educated everyday.  The county, state and federal government is constantly changing their standards.  It's hard enough to keep up with the changes that you need to know (than sitting through some boring seminar and learn nothing).  Credit needs to be given to those of us who actually do the work!  Keeping up with multiple counties requires the reading of standards for days sometimes.  I hardly have enough time for work, family and church now.  Taking a day off of work just puts me behind!

I know this continuning education is going to be accepted; therfore, we should be able to take any business classes of our choice and the courses should be approved beforehand.  Nothing worse than wasting your time with and course and then it is rejected.  If you are not going to "pre-approve" the course then you should have no right to reject it!

Even though I am a surveyor approved courses should include the following:

Waterline design course, computer courses, business management courses, public speaking, physical fitness (we all need to stay in shape), Landscaping courses, Soil courses, Architectural courses, etc.  (the approved course should be any field that we deal with - and not just our field - some of us know our field and would like to gain knowledge of other closely connected fields)
