Forced education is wrong - Sic semper tyrannis (Thus always to tyrants)
Hey fellow hard working architects and engineers (A/E)’s, if you read between the lines it looks like this whole, worthless, continued education thing (CE) is a done deal. All that’s left is the feel good speech by big brother saying how they’ve improved the health, safety and welfare of Virginians. (That’s assuming someone will actually stand up and take credit for this worthless and costly program). And, it looks like our comments, the vast majority of which are against this silly CE concept, will end up in the round file. So much for the democratic procedure. If big brother really believes CE is the answer to Virginian’s problems, and truly understands the A/E’s learn every working hour to stay up with every changing professional needs, and struggle to make what little they make, could big brother put his money (my tax dollars) where is uneducated mouth is and offer free on-line courses and include work experience credits that will fulfill the CE requirements? And where is it written that CE is pro bono and must be earned after official working hours. It’s oblivious that the CE sponsors are not A/E’s and are not in touch with the A/E community. And unfortunately, the only ones who really benefit with forced education are the forced education providers. Did not Virginians’ lead the nation against forced tyranny? Lead the way big brother, I no not where to go or what to read. Zeig Heil!!!
