Mandatory Continuing Education

As an AIA member, I already have a continuing education requirement.  As a registrant in other states, I already have a requirement.  Adding Virginia to the list will not create a hardship but the development of the program by the Board needs to be thoroughly studied prior to implementation.  I would like to see the following:

Allow the requirement to be averaged over 2 or 3 years

Allow informal training, self study, and other less costly methods other than to spend a lot of time in "formal" or pre-certified programs.

Accept the licensee's current professional organization's (ie. AIA) requirements as proof of continuing education.
