Continuing Education

Thank you for this opportunity to comment.

I hold licenses in several states, two of which Georgia and SC have mandatory continuing education. I have always viewed SC's law as the model law for engineering and would suggest that you model your provisions after their's. I would echo the voice of the few, that you take into consideration the needs of the various disciplines  and how their individual educaitonal needs would be met.

SC compels the taking of course work aggresively, making you take half of the required hours each year. I would not include a section on the specifics of Engineering Law in Virginia. I find the periodic flyers from the Board to be sufficient notice. I have been able to easily comply with the course requirements for both states by taking coursework that is acceptable to both. I would suggest you model the Virginia law similarly.

Thank you for hearing my voice.
