Comments against the proposal

The regulations already provide the Board authority to remove our licenses for negligence.  In this manner, we are already forced to maintain our skill sets.  In addition, our peers and employers force us to stay competitive.  The market place is my driver for staying on top of job related innovations.

Obtaining these Continuing Education Units is a commercial enterprise to force us to go to select educational providers.  It provides a hassle for us to obtain these CEU and keep records.  In addition, it will be a hassle for the Board to policy the CEUs.

I have an additional concern that when my employer sends me overseas, I will have an additional challenge to find classes that offer CEUs.

I support making statements in the regulations that continuing education is a requirement.  But, I think that the Board should entrust us PE's to obtain this on our own without the Board policing us and driving the commercial interests that can offer us the continuing education credits.
