I do not need Continuing Education Courses

I work in the field of Satellite Communications and I believe the CE courses will be an absolute waste of time and money.  In order to survive in this ever changing world, I have to keep abreast of new products and technologies. Engineering is a perpetual learning process. In 2007, I spent 8 days in Germany, 7 days in California, 5 days in Maryland, and 5 days in Virginia attending high tech product training courses.  I have been working in this field for more than 20 years and I spent over four weeks last year alone on industry training at a substantial cost for my company.  The last thing I need is to attend useless, time consuming and burdensome CE courses that are out of touch with reality.

The PE license is not needed for my present employment.  There is no doubt in my mind, if CE course requirements are put to law, I will not renew my license.   Your recommendations, if adopted, will discourage future engineers from taking the PE exam.  Thanks.
