Vote NO for mandatory continuing education for PE in VA

I have had my VA PE since 1972, the same time I received my PhD.  I am very proud to say I am a PE and encourage others to get their PE as well.  I see no reason for me to pay out dollars for a short course in my area.  I helped teach a short course for many years in my area of expertise.  I go to and present research in my area of expertise at ASME, STLE, and other international conferences.   I was in industry for 13 years and no one needs a PE for that type work.  I have been teaching at VT since 1985.  No one needs a PE for this.  I have been consulting since 1985, no one asks me if I have a PE to do my work in my area of expertise. I have read over 300 other comments on this site that were 99.9% saying NO as well.   Who is listening or reading this that will make the decision?  Is "no one" the answer?
