Just say NO to Continuing Education - theory and reality...

It is so typical for large organziations to make sweeping rules in an attempt to prevent problems that a few cause.  If PEs make decisions which are "unprofessional" - then that action should be addressed.  Let us police our own.  How is this supposed to benefit the PE's or those who they serve?  Do you think that someone who is going to make an unprofessional decision is somehow prevented from making a bad decision by getting blocks checked by attending/acquiring continuing education credits?  A PE should know his/her limits and not put their stamp on something unless they are professionally comfortable with what is being approved.  I am for more severe punishment of misbehavior by PEs.  Why punish all for the sake of a few?  Is it because it is just easier to make EVERYONE do this than it is to DEAL with the ones who should not be practicing???  I have read through the annual reports of disiplined PEs - and the punishments are a JOKE.  Get real with enformcement...
