Hera Solar, LLC provided the Department of Environmental Quality a revised notice of intent (NOI) to submit the necessary documentation for a permit by rule for a small renewable energy project in Tazewell County, pursuant to Virginia Regulation 9VAC15-60 et. seq. The original NOI was submitted to DEQ and posted to Town Hall on September 23, 2024, stating the project was 20 MWac on a 720-acre parcel. The new NOI reduces the project to 13.3 MWac on 120 acres of the larger 720-acre parcel. The project location is centered at 37.172135, -81.503604 off of Lake Witten Road in North Tazewell, Virginia. The number of photovoltaic modules has also decreased from approximately 48,000 to 36,129. The project developer is Energix Renewables.
