Legal Notice

Mathews County Wetlands Board hereby gives notice that on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 7 PM, in the Mathews County Historic Courthouse, 27 Court Street, Mathews VA; the Board will hold public hearings regarding requests for authorization of the following applications:

Isleham Farm, LC, 43 Daniel Avenue, VMRC 26-1495, TM# 23-A-22 & 23-A-21 – Request to construct a 160 lf of revetment for berm pond, with Class AI & Class I stone, and sand fill & native plantings, 105 lf living shoreline, 190 lf marsh toe sill, and 100 lf of bulkhead in same footprint, repair boathouse in the same footprint, along with dredging for boat access.  Along a portion of the Blackwater Creek shoreline.   

Maria Candler, 104 Southview Lane, VMRC 26-1624, TM 29-A-193 – Request to construct 100’Lx3’Hx8’W marsh toe sill, with Class I & II stone, and 60 cy of sand fill, and install 90’Lx4’Hx8’W revetment. Along a portion of the North River.  

Steven H. Gordon, 344 Old Mathews Lane, VMRC 26-1732, TM 10-10-C – Request to dredge 160 cy of subaqueous bottom to achieve depths of minus three and one-half feet MLW along an entrance channel.  Along a portion of Queens Creek shoreline.

David B. Mulholland, 156 Driftwood Drive, VMRC 26-1848, TM 11A4-A-207D – Request to replace a 70’ existing timber groin with a low profile 70’ vinyl groin.   Along a portion of the Chesapeake Bay shoreline.

Interested parties are invited to attend the meeting.  Applications may be reviewed at the Mathews County Wetlands Board office, located in the County Administration Building, 50 Brickbat Road, Mathews VA, Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-4:30 pm or online at https://webapps.mrc.virginia.gov/public/habitat/index.php.
