The Virginia Department of Education recently changed its method of collecting public comment for the Board of Education and for members of the public to sign up to address the Board during the public comment portion of the Board’s business meetings.
The Virginia Board of Education Comment Form will now be used to collect public comments for review by members of the Board. The Board accepts comments from the public on all matters related to public education in Virginia. Comments may be submitted at any time but will be collected and shared with Board members as part of the meeting materials for its next scheduled business meeting.
The Virginia Board of Education Public Comment Sign-Up Form will now be used to sign-up to address the Board at one of its scheduled business meetings. Requests to address the Board through this form should be submitted no later than the day before the scheduled business meeting but may also be made at the meeting at the discretion of the president of the Board. The Board accepts comments from the public on all matters related to public education.
Information about the Board’s public meetings and how to attend the Board’s meetings can be found on the VDOE website.
