Science Standards of Learning are scheduled for review in 2009-2010.  A proposed review timeline may be viewed at: http://www.doe.virginia.gov/boe/meetings/2009/01_jan/agenda_items/item_e.pdf.  The proposed Science Standards of Learning document will be distributed for public comment in November 2009. The document will be placed on the Virginia Department of Education’s Web site for review (http://www.doe.virginia.gov).  Public comment is welcomed at any point in the review process.  Public hearings will be held in November 2009 and will be announced in advance.  Final adoption is expected in February 2010. Following adoption of the SOL, the curriculum framework will be revised. The proposed changes to the curriculum framework will be posted on the department's web site. Public comment will be recieved on the proposed curriculum framework from April 15, 2010, until July 1, 2010.
