| Purpose of the meeting The 2005 General Assembly enacted House Joint Resolution 664 requesting the Virginia Department of Taxation (“TAX”) study the use of local cigarette tax stamps by Virginia's localities. TAX has completed its survey of local government officials and wholesale cigarette dealers regarding these issues and will hold a public meeting to discuss the survey results and receive comments from interested parties. As space is limited, please let us know if you plan to attend. | |
