| Purpose of the meeting Chapters 28 & 29 of the 2026 Acts of Assembly (HB 889 & SB 497) direct the Virginia Department of Transportation to convene a work group of stakeholders to identify opportunities and develop recommendations to amend regulations and permitting processes to facilitate the siting of new electrical transmission infrastructure in existing state highway right-of-way. The first meeting of the work group will be held in person on Thursday, July 23 at 1:30pm at VDOT’s Lockwood Building (address listed above). | |||||
