| Purpose of the meeting This work group is convened by the Secretary of Administration in compliance with SB 582 and HB 774 which were enacted during the 2026 Session of the General Assembly. This work group will not be led by the State Board of Elections, but members from the Department of Elections will participate. The purpose of the work group is to study potential changes to the same day registration provisional voting process. The work group’s efforts will culminate in a report submitted to the Chairs of the Virginia State Senate and Virginia House of Delegates Committees on Privileges and Elections by November 1, 2026. The report may include potential legislative and administrative recommendations. | |
