| Purpose of the meeting A public hearing to receive comments on proposed amendments to the Water Quality Standards (9VAC25-260, et seq.). The subject matter of the rulemaking includes updated numerical and narrative criteria, use designations and other policies contained in the Water Quality Standards Regulation (9 VAC 25-260). The public comment period begins on July 13, 2026 and ends September 11, 2026. Comment will also be accepted regarding the need for adoption of new, updated or cancellation of existing water quality standards contained in Virginia Administrative Code § 9VAC25-260, and to fulfill federal mandates for a three-year review of the standards. Any comment received will be taken into consideration for future regulatory action on the water quality standards. An informational session will be held starting at 12:30 pm at the same location prior to the start of the hearing. | |
