Purpose of the meeting
Committees of the Board (secure services committee and non-secure services committee) meet at 9 AM to receive certification audit reports. Full Board convense at 10 AM to take certification action and to receive public comments on Regulations Governing Research on Human Subjects and Records of the Department of Juvenile Justice (6 VAC 35-170), to receive comments from the public concerning revisions to 6 VAC 35-30 (Regulations for the Reimbursement of Local Juvenile Residential Facility Construction Costs)and to take up such other matters as may come before the Board.

This meeting is a public hearing to receive comment on the following proposed stage(s)
Incorporate into the regulation changes in the reimbursement approval process mandated by the 2000 General Assembly, and to clarify that the regulation extends to construction of certain facilities even when reimbursement is not sought from the Commonweal
Establish a process to review and approve research involving human subjects or records of the Department of Juvenile Justice.
