Purpose of the meeting
The Board of Education will convene on Wednesday, July 21 and Thursday, July 22 for their monthly meetings. All meetings will be held in the James Monroe Building 22nd Floor Board Room, 101 N. 14th Street, Richmond, VA 23219, unless otherwise noted. Meetings will be livestreamed on the VDOE YouTube channel. Please note the Security Protocols for the James Monroe Building: All visitors to the James Monroe Building must show Photo ID and sign in at the security desk on the first floor. When you arrive, please pass through the security screening, sign-in at the security desk and let them know you are attending the Board of Education meeting. All visitors must have an escort to and from the security desk to the meeting location. Please allow time for these security protocols. Security desk hours are from 8:00AM to 5:00PM. We appreciate your patience and commitment to ensuring the safety of all employees and guests. The Board’s Special Committee to Review the Standards of Accreditation will convene at 2:30p.m., or 15 minutes after the adjournment of the SOQ Committee, whichever is later. The agenda and meeting materials are available on the Board’s webpage. Public comment will be accepted. Pursuant to the Bylaws of the Board of Education, the Board requests that members of the public only address the committee on matters on the committee’s published agenda and any matters added to the agenda during the meeting by the committee. Please limit remarks to three minutes and provide written copies of your remarks. Speakers will be asked to limit remarks to three minutes per person. Electronic or written copies of remarks are encouraged – individuals should prepare 9 copies. Electronic copies can be submitted to Sonya Broady via email.
