| Purpose of the meeting The public hearing will begin immediately following the Board's business meeting. The purpose is to receive public comment on the proposed stage of the Regulations Governing the Use of Seclusion and Restraint in Public Elementary and Secondary Schools in Virginia. With the exception of minor technical corrections and clarifications, the proposed regulations have not changed since the Virginia Board of Education's approval in March 2017. Speakers will be asked to limit remarks to three minutes per person. Written copies of remarks are encouraged - individuals should prepare 11 copies. Please contact Sonya Broady (sonya.broady@doe.virginia.gov) in advance of the meeting to sign up to speak.
