Reason for Extension:
This extension is required in order to continue enforcing the legislative mandate, as set out in the 2019 Appropriation Act, Chapter 854, Item 303.X1, to “…make programmatic changes in the provision of … Community Mental Health services in order to ensure appropriate utilization and cost efficiency. The department shall consider all available options including … utilization review…” This package clarifies the documentation requirements for service authorization for Community Mental Health and Rehabilitative Services.
This emergency extension request was approved by the Governor's office on 9/21/2022.
