This is a great program with far-reaching benefits. I am in support of the proposed changes. Thank you!
Our community has begun a Comprehensive and Roadside Management Program. Residents and visitors love what a beautiful change this program has made. We foresee greater opportunity to increase our gardens and lower VDOT Maintenance with the suggested regulatory change to 24VAC30-121-40.
I am entirely in support of this change. The LEAF program in Lynchburg has been a tremendous way to both beautify our expressway and allow local businesses an opportunity to sensitively advertize while supporting landscaping improvements. It's a win-win situation, and this change in the regulations will only serve to make the opportunities greater for more highway gardens in more locations.
I support the changes. Please allow for the 1/4 mile spacing.
Given current municipal budget constraints, this regulation change can allow communities to improve their neighborhoods without any municipal fiscal outlay
A great project that benefits everyone.
Our community will be able to design more gardens if the regulations are changed from ½ mile spacing to ¼ mile spacing. In this economy, we need to show positive change in projects.
The LEAF program has transformed Lynchburg's roads for the better, and the density of the
sponsor signs is not an issue in terms of appearance or distraction.
Please allow signage less than 1/2 mile apart.
The gardens are a great way to make the highway's more beautiful. I agree
I support the recommended change.

The communities of
The Lynchburg Tree Stewards support the amendment to allow signs and community gardens to be placed 1/4 mile apart rather than 1/2 mile apart on highways where the speed limit has been raised from 45 to 60 miles an hour.

I support the recommended changes. These changes will allow more private funds to beautify our roadways rather than scarce government funds.

The Jerry Falwell Parkway is a great asset to educate travelers of just what it is they are passing through. Liberty University is a beautiful campus that portions of 460 present and this amendment will only increase the area aesthetically.
Thank you,

I definitely support the proposed changes. And I'd like to add that the beautiful gardens on Liberty University's campus are a big plus for the City of Lynchburg. Beautification anywhere in our city helps tourism! And since Rt. 460 cuts right through the LU campus, it's an ideal spot for gardens. Also, they complement the other landscaping on campus. Beautiful!
.Changes would allow more gardens to help beautify the communities.
