Guidance Document Change: The 2020 Virginia General Assembly passed House Bill 753 directing the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) to develop guidance standards for social emotional learning (SEL) for all public students in grades Kindergarten through 12 in the Commonwealth. The Virginia Social Emotional Learning Standards were developed in collaboration with an SEL Advisory Committee, composed of educators, community leaders, agency personnel, and parents. The Virginia SEL Standards are aligned with the Profile of a Virginia Graduate and centered in equity. This intentional focus allows the Standards to explicitly teach the skills needed to be “life ready” and to create more equitable learning environments.

i can't believe educated people spent time putting this Marxist CRT Social Justice to force on kids

I'm always mind blown but not surprised. Mainstream narrative pumping these activists posing as champions for the interest of our children. They want this country divided and to collapse more than anything else. It's the way to have their agenda met and ideology instilled for the future. Every time I get discouraged, I am reminded about how many people really are sane and do not buy into the hype. No one is allowed to speak out so it appears "everyone" wants this. The majority does not. When people are angry and divided you can control them. Give everyone the same; that's socialism and not how our country works. Even the groups you call disadvantaged and underprivileged are insulted. Quit dividing people.
