Guidance Document Change: The Model Policies for the Treatment of Transgender Students in Virginia’s Public Schools guidance document was developed in response to House Bill 145 and Senate Bill 161, enacted by the 2020 Virginia General Assembly, which directed the Virginia Department of Education to develop and make available to each school board model policies concerning the treatment of transgender students in public elementary and secondary schools. These guidelines address common issues regarding transgender students in accordance with evidence-based best practices and include information, guidance, procedures, and standards relating to: compliance with applicable nondiscrimination laws; maintenance of a safe and supportive learning environment free from discrimination and harassment for all students; prevention of and response to bullying and harassment; maintenance of student records; identification of students; protection of student privacy and the confidentiality of sensitive information; enforcement of sex-based dress codes; and student participation in sex-specific school activities, events, and use of school facilities.

Do not turn hell lose.

I have great concern that this policy is even being thought about in my state. I personally love children  and want the best for each one. This is a reckless policy that will further shift our schools down to the lowest in the world. At such a young age children should not be having these issues. I have great concern of letting a young born boy join up with a bunch of young girls in locker rooms, restrooms and such just because he says he is a girl. Kids that are having these problems need real help not just giving them a pat on the back. These children need help to learn that what God made them is okay to be and they do not need to be the opposite to fit in. I often times there are deeper needs in a childs life when they are turning to such foolishness. Often times when kids are going through transgender issues it scars them for life and they never fit in. By passing policy like this trying to force them to fit in you do them more harm than good. These kids and there parents truly need help but accepting them is not the way to do it. Please put policies in place to help the children feel comfortable in the sex they were born in.
