Guidance Document Change: The Model Policies for the Treatment of Transgender Students in Virginia’s Public Schools guidance document was developed in response to House Bill 145 and Senate Bill 161, enacted by the 2020 Virginia General Assembly, which directed the Virginia Department of Education to develop and make available to each school board model policies concerning the treatment of transgender students in public elementary and secondary schools. These guidelines address common issues regarding transgender students in accordance with evidence-based best practices and include information, guidance, procedures, and standards relating to: compliance with applicable nondiscrimination laws; maintenance of a safe and supportive learning environment free from discrimination and harassment for all students; prevention of and response to bullying and harassment; maintenance of student records; identification of students; protection of student privacy and the confidentiality of sensitive information; enforcement of sex-based dress codes; and student participation in sex-specific school activities, events, and use of school facilities.

Strongly oppose. Never support harassment of any kind. But do not encourage children to choose gender

God created each of us uniquely and with His purpose in mind. Children are innocent yet naive and swayed easily. We cannot continue to teach the next generations to come that they can do what they please because they “feel” a certain way. We all have temptations and ideas that are morally wrong within us and need to learn how to endure through this life realizing it’s not what we want it to be. Endurance builds character. These children are being taught that it is okay to do whatever they please and have major entitlement attachments. As a mother of a son and a daughter, I will not stand by nor support this. I would pray with and for these children. Teach them they are SO loved by their maker and that they will continue to experience things in their hearts like this throughout their lives.
I know this world isn’t run by God, so we as Christ followers need to speak up where darkness is taking over. I strongly oppose the encouragement of transgender acceptance in schools.
