This proposed new regulation appears to be poorly conceived, short sighted and will further weaken our already staggering economy, while not providing the alleged benefit to the environment as claimed.
As a lover of the bay and saltwater kayak fisherman, I support any reasonable measures that protect this beautiful resource and national treasure. However, minimizing population density necessarily distributes the population over a greater land mass, bespoiling ever more natural land which acts as a filter for the rain water on its way to the bay.
Secondly, the restrictions and additional costs to developers, tradespeople and materials suppliers, who are already suffering in this economy, will be devastating and will cost jobs to even more Virginians.
Please reject this disasterous regulation.
