About time!

I spent about 8 years as a volunteer stream monitor for Fairfax County.  I finally burned out after monitoring degraded and crippled streams that only had worms and midge flies living in them.

Streams that have already cut themselves into 5 ft deep ditches will not be healed by this alone. But if they are restored, all the restoration money and effort invested will not be undone. And any halfway decent streams still out there (such as Johnny Moore Creek and Cub Run) might have a chance of not being degraded any further.

I have hoped for 12 years to see this day. Maybe aquatic life will finally have a chance of survival in Fairfax County.
