My name is Lydia Felton and I am an Interior Designer in Richmond, Virginia. I am writing this comment in support of the continued regulation of the interior design profession in Virginia. I graduated in 2017 from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in Interior Design. During my schooling I completed multiple internships with both A&E and A&D firms. Currently I am working at KSA Interiors, where I have been since my senior year. KSA is a small, woman owned business with only 10 onsite employees, most of which are Interior Designers. We work in multiple market sectors, including (but not limited to) Higher Education, Corporate, Government, Senior Living, Healthcare and Retail.
Eliminating the regulation of Interior Design would undeniably harm Virginia Certified Interior Designers, Interior Design small businesses and others in the Commonwealth.
