I am a registered and certified USA boxing coach and official that has participated in Virginia Amateur boxing for years.I started as a amateur boxer and later became a professional boxer. This sport of amateur boxing has taught me life skills that I still use today. This new law would end Amateur boxing in the state of Virginia .And I would like for the kids to have the same opportunities that i had.I oppose the House Bill No.1228  because the kids that i coach comes from single homes with multiple siblings.The families simply can not afford to pay for the test that would be required under this law.

Please repeal or amend the changes to DPOR Professional Boxing and Wrestling Event Regulations that became effective October1,2015 and make USA BOXING the governing bodyand sanctioning organization for all Amateur boxing in Virginia.
