Action | Promulgation of new regulation banning concealed firearms in executive branch agency offices |
Stage | Emergency/NOIRA |
Comment Period | Ended on 1/27/2016 |
This regulation is a gross abuse of discretion on the part of the Governor, and probably against the Virginia Constitution. What McAuliffe has done is created law, a power not entrusted to him by the General Assembly or by the People.
This regulation does nothing to prevent crime, protect people, or stop violence. In fact, it puts law-abiding citizens at further risk, if they choose to obey the regulation and disarm themselves when entering into certain state buildings.
This regulation should not be allowed to stand. Extend the comment period, so that the Governor can feel the wrath of the citizens which he has treated like subjects.
