I strongly oppose this regulation

Virginians who desire to legally protect themselves and their families are not a risk to the Commonwealth.

This regulation is ill-advised and does not improve safety. By advertising the absence of any potential resistance, terrorists or other criminals may view facilities as viable targets. All but two of the public massacres since 1950 had been committed by criminals and terrorists in “gun-free zones,” which is exactly what this regulation creates.

I also question the Governor’s authority to implement this regulation.

This regulation should not be approved and the associated emergency regulation needs to be withdrawn.
