As a licensed concealed firearms carrier, a NRA certified firearms instructor, a competitive shooter, and an ex-civilian contractor with experience in hostile environments; I wanted to express my displeasure with the Governor's recent plan to ban law abiding citizens from exercising their Constitutionally protected right of self-preservation.  It is an indisputable fact that concealed carry license holders on a national average are law abiding citizens that are 13.5 times less likely to be arrested for non-violent offenses than the general public and 5.7 times less likely to be arrested for violent offenses than the general public.  These facts present a very clear picture, concealed carry license holders are the very best of the citizenry.  I emplore you to ensure that these upstanding citizens continue to have the right to self-preservation through their legal right to carry a firearm into government buildings.  The myths of the anti-gun crowd are irrelevant to the facts and the facts support concealed carry license holders.  It is also a fact that criminals are criminals for a reason...they commit crimes...they break laws.  So, regardless of banning the concealed carry of firearms in government building...a terrorist or a disgruntled employee will not be detered from carrying a firearm into a government building with the intent to do harm.  What you will accomplish though is providing them a more hospitable environment to commit their crime.  Law enforcement can not be every where at once, they're not omnipotent...thus, it is important to the let the citizenry protect themselves and their loved ones.  I ask that you think through this and ask yourself how many criminals were stopped because their was a law against something.  Take a step further and ask yourself how many times you've broken the law by exceeding the speed limit, despite a law prohibiting such an act.  Think about those things and ask yourself if you really think a law will stop a criminal from doing harm.  Thank you.
