This proposal creates an environment where the citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia are resticted from carrying a firarm onto Executive branch-controlled properties.  This action allows for criminals to execute workplace violence, murder, and terrorism because the law-abiding and legally licensed concealed-carry citizens authorized by the Commonwealth of Virginia are stripped of their Second-Amendment right to bear arms.

Law-abiding citizens are not only a compliment to the law enforcement agencies, escecially during real-time, unfolding events when law enforcement has not arrived, are out of place, or injured themselves, but are obligated to the preservation of self, family, and other citizens.

Conceraled carry and open carry citizens are entrusted throughout the Commonwealth with the right to bear arms.  Why is the Executive branch afraid and feel the need to further restrict the people from their Constitutional rights? Does the Governor fear that his actions are placing himself and the Executive Offices in danger? Is the governor prepared to disarm his protective staff members to truly remove all firearms from these properties and solely rely on dialing 911 in an emergency to await armed law enforcement to arrive on scene?

This proposal does nothing for public safety; it actually does the opposite. This kind of action puts people's lives in danger. This action should not and cannot be allowed to move forward.
