Eliminating the right of law-abiding people does nothing to improve "safety", but instead encourages violence.  The common demoninator in mass-shootings is that they occur in gun-free zones (all but two cases since 1950).  By continuing this policy you are creating yet another free-fire zone for criminals.

The "common sense" solution to gun violence is to allow more law-abiding citizens to carry weapons in all locations, not restrict them.
