Virginians denied self defense

Why do the very people that we elected to protect us insist on doing us harm. I am referring to the emergency state agency gun ban that is in effect for 18 months after which it becomes permanent. I do not understand why this ban was even enacted as I can't ever recall a problem with guns in state agencys. I can only assume that the governor has ulterior motives. Disarming people that have already been through extensive background checks and more than likely could end up saving some ones life especially in todays terrorist atmosphere where an acknowledged enemy is present. I hope the powers that be will reconsider their stance on this issue.
