As a medical doctor licensed in the state of VA I have SERIOUS concerns about the utter lack of prior standards to which abortion facillities have been held. Women deserve the right to be properly informed, to receive care with sterilized equipment on tables that have been properly cleaned. They have the right to be cared for by staff who are trained and able to implement life saving ACLS/BLS if needed. None of these standards have been in place in VA prior to the initiation of reforms recently passed to instate basic regulator requirements for the above. Please do not allow a multi-billion dollar industry (that of abortion) to sacrifice the health of women for the sake of money. I am ashamed of the state of these facilities as a physician in VA. I strongly request you maintain the standards so as to ensure the safety and protection of countless women who report to these facilities for care. Any abortion facility that does not comply or demonstrate adherence to basic standards of ANY health care facility in our state should not be allowed the right to keep their doors open and continue patient care.
