Action | Regulations for Licensure of Abortion Facilities |

The new abortion clinic safety regulations are pro-woman. Nearly 80 health violations have been found in just 9 of Virginia's 20 abortion clinics since the announced inspections began. These violations include blood-stained tables and vials, unsterilized equipment, and untrained staff. I believe women have a right to be treated with dignity and respect and the way abortion centers are being run currently does not offer women that right. These new regulations will promote a cleaner and safer environment for the women that choose to get an abortion. And contrary to what the other side says, these regulations will not force all clinics to close. It will simply cause them to meet the same standards we expect from other facilities conducting operations. If a hospital could not meet these regulations, we would not send people there to undergo a risky procedure. Why do we expect women to be operated on in an environment that isn't clean or safe? As a female Virginian, I support these regulations!
