Recently I was made aware of the laws that were passed in July when I had my teeth cleaned by my dental hygeinist . Foremost, why wasn't there more information provided to the public before any of these reckless laws were passed? 

For many decades, I have felt very comfortable going to my dentist knowing that he had licensed, educated and knowledgeable dental hygeinists to provide services. 

These new laws jeopordize  patient trust and safety. I am unwilling to schedule and pay to see someone who was trained on the job. What's next? Will these unlicensed people be able to drill teeth when our legislators decide there are not enough dentists?

This is a prime example why health care is in decline in this country. With health care and dental costs at a premium, you would expect licensed, educated professionals delivering care. 

Personally, I may have to seek other options such as crossing the state line in order to ensure the same level of services I am accustomed to. Dentists should not be able to teach and govern. All health care professions should have the proper oversight by a governing body to ensure the public's safety. 

Bottom line, the Board of Dentistry needs to draft regulations and standards to prevent unskilled personnel to be able to provide treatment on patients.
