Good morning. We hygienist no longer just clean teeth. We spent our money, time and energy,  some for two to 4 years, to learn the important of oral health. The extensive learning is important not just to have good oral health knowledge but to inform our patients the important of good oral health to improve their over all health. Our knowledge goes behind just polishing teeth or using cavitron instrumentation to remove supragingival deposit. Periodontal disease link to so many chronic diseases and dental assistants who are trained to polish don't have the knowledge to educate patients how good home care, Regular dental visits and Periodontal therapy will help them improve control diabetic condition, help prevent premature birth and more. Our community deserves a professionally educated provider.
