It's been consistently shown that the extremely tiny population of trans athletes have no/little meaningful advantage over cis athletes, especially at a pre-college level. The athletes who push these kinds of bans have consistently been courted by the transphobic right-wing influencer sphere, misrepresenting/exaggerating their experiences in exchange for money and fame. While there is a good faith conversation to be had about the participation of pre/early-transition trans women in specific sports at the highest levels of competition as adults, this is not in good faith; This is bigots seeking the erasure of trans Americans starting with the most vulnerable of an already vulnerable population, a repackaging of the already unpopular wave of bathroom bills from years prior seeking to stir up the fears of helicopter parents over a transphobic caricature of children who just want to play sports with their peers the same as any kid. I implore you to see this for what it is: Bigotry peddled by reactionaries, invading your communities to harass your most vulnerable friends and neighbors. It will not stop here.
