I do not support turtle exclusion devices. If there is even any concern at all with possibly catching a turtle, it is in very specific places and environments. I’ve only ever caught a turtle in one place in the state. 98% of places and depth Virginia waterman fish gear, they  will never see a turtle. I see no reason for the regulation unless it is confined to very small areas of known high turtle population.
