I started crabbing with my father when I was 2 and crabbed into my 20s. We caught a few turtles but I could usually count on one hand how many we would catch a year. However, the funnel is arguably the most important part of the pot and any kind of turtle excluder or object in the funnel will negatively impact the crab catch of the pot.
