I have been a teacher in gifted programs for 30 years, and coordinator of the North Carolina Governor's School East program for the same number.  Please do not allow these proposed regulations to become a part of the educational direction of our gifted program in VA; they will diminish, if not eliminate, the strength of the guidelines currently in place.  Intentional or not, the result will be to see the gifted program fade into obscurity.
