I think it is more beneficial to staff and clients alike to keep certifications with IRs as they currently exist. My review list would practically double if I were seeing all of my caseload every 6 months and would be very difficult, if not impossible, to manage. Also, albemarle county is very large and many clients could not afford the gas or transportation costs to travel to our office every 6 month (nor would they be happy with the waiting period and extra time associated with phone interviews (completing the A/B; waiting for a signed form to return; etc.). The bottom line is that we are stretched as thin as we can go, and the state will be looking at more errors if they expect us to do significantly more casework with the added reviews with no more funding for additional staff.
