As a former eligibility worker and now a fraud investigator fraud I have a grasp of both sides of this issue. As an eligibility worker it is easier not to have to interview clients every 6 months. But as an investigator it aids in the investigative process to have clients interviewed every 6 months and for all things to be verified every 6 months. There are no questions regarding felony drug convictions, fleeing felon, applied for and/or receiving benefits from another social service agency etc.... With that said I believe we need to insure good customer service and make the application/review process as assessable as possible but we also need to insure our customers are accountable. We should not let someone get benefits they were not otherwise entitled to receive because a question is not on an Interim Report.
