Keep the workforce and vote no mandate to keep great education!

I would like to contend that given only 55% of the population in Virginia Beach is vaccinated, Ms. Calleja is making a broad assumption of an “irrational minority.” Additionally, given that there is no FDA approved vaccination that is in distribution right now (Comirnaty was FDA approved but can be replaced by the vaccinations in circulation of which were not FDA approved. Comirnaty is not widely distributed or available) I do not believe schools should be getting involved in mandating something that has not been proven safe and that we don’t have long term studies on the impact. Who will be held liable when teachers are vaccine injured? Who will step in when teachers can’t report to school or leave the profession because of a mandate put on them? THIS is what could lead to “constant disruptions.” We must continue to look at this from all angles and not from emotionally charged moms who are making a stance based on an assumption that “constant disruptions” cant continue to happen WITH the vaccine. Breakthrough cases are very common. We are seeing employee exodus in other industries and I don’t think our Virginia school systems can have that and still maintain quality education for our children.

What we do need to do for our children is leave politics out of the school system. There is no scientific proof that says vaccinated children cant spread it just as easily as unvaccinated. Please keep the school environment stable and do not go with this woman’s recommendation.
