Excerpt from the petition: "The irrational minority should not be dictating the public health policy for VA or the schools."

Those who oppose vaccination mandates are not the minority as the writer suggests. It also speaks volumes to the character and intent of the writer to suggest those who oppose vaccination mandates and violation of civil liberties are "irrational". The writer then contradicts their own logic with the above statement. EVERY citizen of the State of Virginia HAS EVERY RIGHT to voice their opinion on this matter, not just the people that agree with the writer. Democracy indeed dies in darkness, and that darkness comes from people who seek to silence the voice of those who disagree with them. EVERY VOICE COUNTS.

Excerpt from petition: "My daughter and all other students should have a right to be able to attend school without being unnecessarily put at risk by other students and teachers who refuse to be vaccinated"

This statement presents a dangerous falsehood that current COVID vaccinations would prevent infections. This is FACTUALLY inaccurate and can be disproven by a very quick search of the CDC website which states the current COVID vaccinations MAY prevent the severity of the infection, but CANNOT PREVENT INFECTION OR TRANSMISSION. If a teacher is vaccinated, they will not be preventing or reducing the possibility of infection and transmission to students.
